The Future of Memory - ZINE
The Future of Memory is a zine that brings together artists, writers, researchers, designers, and archivists to reflect on forced displacement and migration. Between 2023 and 2025, contributors created and shared works drawing on personal or family histories to explore themes such as land theft and ethnic cleansing, biodiversity and resilience, cuisine, craftsmanship, and poetry, cultural preservation and environmental justice.
"And we, the children and grandchildren of those forced to leave, where do we turn our gaze, when even the names of our streets have been erased? When the colors of our homes and the tastes of the fruits exist only in the minds of those ‘who were born there’? How can we ensure the survival of our stories? How do we inhabit new spaces that are not ours, often with no hope of returning to the lands we were torn from? How can we build solidarities strong enough to resist censorship and surveillance policies designed to erase our narratives?"
