Henna By Racha

Henna By Racha

ART OF HENNAYA

Paris, South Lebanon, Casablanca

Henna is an art of ritual and beauty, practiced for centuries across the Mediterranean, the Maghreb, the Middle East, and India. Derived from the Lawsonia inermis plant, this natural dye has long adorned hands and bodies to celebrate joy, mark important moments, and carry tradition through generations. Every pattern holds meaning, every line becomes a form of transmission. Racha brings together tradition and creativity through her work as a young hennaya. Her designs reflect both the heritage of her origins and the influence of her travels. Sometimes rooted in classical motifs, sometimes freely reimagined, her work gives new approach to an ancestral art while preserving its spirit, its symbolism, and its intimacy.

Board games

Bruxelles, Tunis, Cap Bon

The Tunisian Chkobba, inspired by the Italian Scopa, crossed the Mediterranean before becoming deeply rooted in Tunisian daily life. More than a simple card game, it represents a warm and popular tradition : one that brings together generations, families, and neighborhoods around the same table. Sinda Battikh offers a contemporary reinterpretation of this cultural classic by redesigning its cards with figures dressed in traditional Tunisian attire, inspired by local garments, colors, and gestures. Through this project, she breathes new life into a familiar heritage, transforming an everyday game into a celebration of Tunisian identity, memory, and visual culture.
